We practice hibernation.

Only the fleas didn’t know it yet.

Now they do.

Explorers

What I love about taking photos of children is that when you get down to their level you discover a whole new world and suddenly a seemingly boring place like our front yard turns into a fairy land.

The Cat Stalker

Now don’t go and show this post to any cat. It will give him/nightmares for years to come!

Once upon a time in our kitchen. Our poor Jonesy was feeling happy and safe when …

… along came the crazy CAT STALKER!

Cat Stalker: “Kittyyyy! Want kitty! Ei ei kitty! Pick up Kitty!”

Cat Stalker: “Kitty! Kitty! Donesy, Donesy!”

Kitty: “Ehm, no. Thank you. Good bye.”

Cat Stalker: “Donesy! Donesy! Pick up Donesy!”

Donesy: “Arg!”

Cat Stalker: “Donesy tail!”

Donesy: “Enough!” *scratch-without-claws-because-CatStalker-is-Mommy’s-baby-and-I-want-food-tonight* “I’ve had it. I’m going outside. Byyye!”

Cat Stalker: “Donesy?”

Donesy: “Wait. Why is the door closed?”

Cat Stalker: “Donesy stay!”

(WARNING – THIS IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY SCARY!)

Cat Stalker:”Donesy no go outiiide. Donesy staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!”

Cat Stalker: “Donesy staaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! AHAHAHAHAHA! Eiei, Donesy!”

Donesy: “Miouw!!”

Donesy: “Let me out! Let me out! Mioooooooooooooooooouw!”

Cat Stalker: “HARHARHARHARHAR!”

THE GRUESOME END

(Good night!)

Today …

… Lilly insisted on wearing her hat while eating lunch, …

… Anja and Jonesy entertained each other while waiting to be let in …

… and Lilly showed us that …

… are enough for eating corn on the cob.

The BirthDAY

Erik’s birthday party taking place a day early the lucky boy ended up having a birthday WEEKEND!

The actual day was quieter than the one before. Erik woke up early as usual, but after a glance into the kitchen he wasted no further thought on snuggling with us as he normally does.

“Mama, Daddy, there’s a BIKE in the kitchen!”

Here’s enjoying his presents and of course Granny and Oupa’s visit.

From Spring to Summer in a Week

Here a little potpourri of crazy birthdays, cute babies in their cousin’s dungarees, a smurf fan, a happy cat in the garden and beautiful Durbanville countryside.

It’s Spring , …

… I’ve got Spring energy, so let’s blog! :)

I’ve got so many pictures and videos that I must not waste too many words.

So here we go – first of all for Nobbi: here’s our Bougainvilla on our balcony. Fortunately I do NOT have to cringe with shame at this inquiry :P

Besides this beauty mostly everything else is also blooming and if not blooming then at least it’s growing – like weeds. Oh yes, and the weeds are also growing.

Our wall will be hidden soon, …

… lillies (and cats), …

.. I love the smell of this groundcover (not going to waste time looking up the name now, but it always reminds me of the garden route), …

… weeds, …

… and our vine.

Saturday  Erik “graduated” from Moms&Tots with a visit to the zoo (about 15 minutes from us). I get all sentimental when I think about it – he told me he doesn’t want it to be “the last time” and that he wants to continue going to Marilette. Sniff …

Anyway, Spring is just as busy there as it is here of course.

Here’s Lilly admiring the zebras and springboks.

Lilly liking the black swan.

Erik and Lilly really liked this monkey …

…although he also found it a bit scary.

In the end I think he liked the “bokkies” best.

Look at these lovely blossoms!

South Africa’s national bird, the Blue Crane.

I still love tortoises!

Lat week I took Anja for a nice walk in the vineyards.

Ag, I just love Guinea Fowls!

More Lillies.

More vines.

Lots of wild flowers.

Anja taking a dip.

Saturday night Erik and Daddy were going to camp upstairs.

But in the end Erik just ended up in his own bed again – MUCH later than usual.

And last, but not least here’s Erik at Blauberg Strand yesterday. The two of us spent some very nice hours there!

Oh, me, oh, my, it’s half past four and the kids are still napping. Must run and wake them. BYE!
