The BirthDAY
Erik’s birthday party taking place a day early the lucky boy ended up having a birthday WEEKEND!
The actual day was quieter than the one before. Erik woke up early as usual, but after a glance into the kitchen he wasted no further thought on snuggling with us as he normally does.
“Mama, Daddy, there’s a BIKE in the kitchen!”
Here’s enjoying his presents and of course Granny and Oupa’s visit.

Happy Birthday, Erik!
Our “little” Erik is THREE! We can hardly believe it.
Besides that he is amazing us lately by becoming a real little boy who is outgoing, helpful and daring(!). To a big part this of course has to do with him now being a “Kindergarten-Kid” who admires and copies his older peers.
Erik’s birthday started with his party on Saturday which took place on a farm in beautiful Durbanville.
Here some pictures of tractor rides (Birthday boy refused to even go near the tractor), animal feeding and egg “hunting”.

More pics will follow. Enjoy!
Some more …
… Lilly-cuteness that I came across and that I think I forgot to show last month.
Little girlie liking Mommy’s necklace …
… and a very tired little girl taking after her Daddy (falling asleep reading).
Ouch!! This is too much …
… cuteness!!
Lilly just woken from her nap, eating crackers and loving her cuddle blankie …
Fun at Auntie Ant’s
Last Saturday the kids and I went to visit Antonia at her new place.
The lucky girl has now got a big garden of her own and a braai-area which we transformed into a pool area.
The weather was great and we all had a wonderful time.
Both enjoyed Mia, the cat. Especially Erik kept her on her feet.
Hiding by Mama.
I am still the Queen here!
Climbing the laundry line pole …
And sliding door fun …
Little Chef’s own Kitchen
Erik is still passionate about cooking

and lately he’s been asking me where his OWN stove is and where HE can cook.
Since we’ve got other ideas for his birthday I spontaneously became creative today and within 15 minutes made Erik his own little stove that cost me NADA
What do you think?
You should have seen his face when he woke up and saw this!
He beamed “Now Erik’s got his OWN stove for kochening when Mama is kochening!” and ran into my arms to give me a big hug.
The only thing he still insisted on was an egg timer like mine. So here’s the replica:
And here is the busy little chef.
Girl Time
It was Erik’s 4th day in Kindergarten today and after yet another awful goodbye scene he apparently had a pretty good time! He even drew a couple of beautiful pictures together with his Muh-Kuh! (his stuffed girl cow)
While he was enjoying himself (despite trying hard not to) we girls went for a nice walk at the dam. You’ve already seen the cute picture of little Miss in her summer outfit.
Now here is Anja taking a dip with the duck family …
… and Lilly enjoying the entertainment.
