Nobbi Is Here!
Yesterday morning Meli’s Dad arrived in Cape Town!
We are all terribly excited and having a great time so far! Nobbi keeps saying that he doesn’t want us to change our routine and do nothing out of the ordinary, so we took him to the aquarium today.

Nobbi’s stay is the most exciting event ever for Erik and it’s all “Nobbi this” and “Nobbi that” and “Nobbi look this” or “Nobbi look that” the whole time.
Even Lilly – who didn’t join us at the Waterfront, but stayed with “Mama Two” (Selina) - was exhausted tonight.
And so are we! Good night!
Bobo
Erik loves his new Bobo Siebenschlaefer CD and we listen to it several times a day; how Bobo goes shopping with his Mama, how he celebrates his second birthday, how he does all kinds of things that Erik knows only too well.
Bobo’s Mama even takes photos like Erik’s Mama! So when Bobo’s Mama gets the camera out when they’re at the zoo, Erik demands that HIS Mama also takes a picture!
And she obeys. Here’s Erik at the kitchen table listening to Bobo Siebenschlaefer.

Happy Birthday, Erik!
Saturday the 30th of October was a big day because Erik turned 2!!
Just after 7am he was already keen to go into the kitchen and see his “cake”. The poor birthday boy had to wait until 11am when all his guests were there to finally get a taste of it.
Before though he already got to unwrap a heap of presents …
… including a train set, new blocks, a (already very beloved ) Bobo Siebenschlaefer CD and a kite. One of his favorites though is a tea set and he now thoroughly enjoys his teaparties with Joey.
Around 10am Erik’s guests started to arrive. As we forgot to take pictures then you only get to see the “buffet” 
While Erik’s adult friends were chatting he got up to a lot of fun (and nonsense) with his friend Milla.
Their games included buckets, water, …
… and a very patient Joey. And lots of giggling of course.

Santashoebox
Erik and Mama participated in the Santa Shoebox Project http://www.santashoebox.co.za/ …
… which is an inspiring community initiative, that collects uniquely personalized Christmas gifts for socially disadvantaged youth. Equally, the project is about parents teaching their own children the joy of giving.
A gift to be shared with a child from a distinctly vulnerable social background, who may never before have received a Christmas gift. The project is unique in that the donor knows the name, age, gender and residence of the child the gift is intended for.
Erik made the fingerpainted background of the box all by himself! Today they went and dropped off their box in Cape Town.
“Our” child is a little two year old boy and Erik very much approved of the contents of the box. We hope so will the little boy!
After the drop off Erik and Mama treated themselves to some fun time by the sea on the Mouille Point playground.
At first Erik was not so interested in the playground, …
… but instead wanted to look at the sea (and throw icecream sticks into it and watch them float).
Then he explored the seaside flora …
… until he finally turned around and made his way to the playground.
There he didn’t like the (quite advanced) jungle gym very much and stuck to the merry-go-round (esp. the WATER puddle in the middle), …
… the (very high) slide, …
… and the sand under the swings instead.
Siblings Part II and III and …
Meli thinks these are all so funny with Erik’s and Lilly’s expressions and them often looking so alike, so she decided just to show them all to you. Enjoy!

“Eek! She got me, Erik, she got me!”
“Fine, we’ll look cute for the camera. Alike? We don’t look alike!!!”

“Eh, wait a sec – I think one of Joey’s fleas got me.”
“Where was I? Oh, yes – HAHA, really ridiculous! Lilly and I looking alike. Pfff …, let us see the display.”
“…”
“Oh well. I’m PROUD that my little sister looks like me!”
“After all, she IS very cute!”
The Only Thing Better Than Chocolate Icecream…
… is baking chocolate cake with Mama and then licking the bowl and the mixer “things” (whatever they’re called).
Mama’s little helper then even set the table for supper!!
Playmats And Gardenwork
Lilly’s playmat is just as popular with her as it is with Erik. While Selina and Meli were chatting before his bedtime, he built himself this little nest …
… with Lilly’s bunny and Mama’s famous and far travelled Wusch - who has long been promoted to “Uncle Wusch”.
In the background you can see Meli’s garden work progressing.
