Courtyards And Fishies

The two gardeners in our family are becoming regulars at Stodels nursery.

http://www.stodels.com

Even without Liezl and Milla they love to hang out there – Meli to check out all the wonderful plants and garden accessories planning a courtyard in front of Lilly’s bedroom ( like pavers, …

… garden benches …

and bird baths) …

… and Erik to play on the playground and visit the animals (especially the Llamas and fishies).

Every afternoon now Erik and Mama are busy in the garden preparing the Lilly-corner.  Hopefully we’ll have something to show when Nobbi comes to visit next month! :)

Fun In The Sun (and in the sand)

We’ve been enjoying beautiful spring days here in Cape Town and Erik’s favorite pasttime is still the “garden!”. To allow him even more outside time Meli moved Erik’s sandpit to in front of Lilly’s window so that he can play in the sand while she feeds Lilly.

Now does this look like fun or what?

The other day it was warm enough to fill the other half of Erik’s shell with water and for Erik to get back into his swimming suite (which fortunately still fits him!).

Erik can never have enough water. No matter what we offer him, the shell must be fuller “more!” and the hose pipe “turn it on!” or “water in the bucket!” or or …

… which is why Mama enrolled him for swimming lessons again from the end of this month.

By the way – as you can see in the first picture our wall is finally starting to get greener! Our hard garden work is starting to show as everything is growing beautifully now that spring is here.

Today Meli had a fit though when she discovered that half of her cherished ivy has been eaten by some grey bugs. In desperation she killed them with DOOM, but will that keep them off (without killing the ivy??).

Stay tuned for another exciting episode of “The Wall!”.

“Go Away!”

… said Erik and then Mama had to continue cutting his hair. He didn’t trust the hairdresser :P

(but not even Mama was allowed to cut the hair above his ears)

Bog Boy Pants!

Erik is using his potty more and more often now. With the days getting warmer and warmer we will soon be able to let him run around without a nappy and just see how it goes.

Today he wore his new big boy pants for the first time and only reluctantly let us put a nappy on him again.

After all they’ve got PLANES on them! I mean – how cool is THAT!?!

Dogs and babies have got something in common

They can sleep anywhere!

YAAAWN! (translation: “I’ve just woken up. Take away the camera.”)

WAAH! What’s going on here? Mama, that’s Lilly on the TABLE!

When Meli told the peadiatrician that it’s difficult to find opportunities to put Lilly on her tummy during the day to exercise her neck (with a slobbery dog and a VERY curious toddler) he suggested putting her on the table in the kitchen.

Well, here she is!

Next to the doggy bowl and …

… clearly in the mood for exercise. :)

Cuter By The Day!

Our little Lilly is just getting cuter by the day!

This morning she was cooing and kicking her legs on our bed.

Once again Mama couldn’t make up her mind which pictures are the cutest, so you’re getting quite a few. (Sorry! Parents …)

Goooood morning!

No, I didn’t say I was bored and needed exercise!

Oh, maaan!

I still hate it!

You hear me? I HATE it!!!

Thanks, Mama.

This is muuuuuuuuuuuch more comfortable!

Our little girl had her 6 week check-up on Wednesday and she is doing great! She already weighs 5kg and impressed her paediatrician by being so alert and cute.

We mustn’t forget Erik of course who is also terribly cute! Today he was a great help to Mommy again and they worked in the garden together for hours while Lilly slept in the pram.

Baby Hair Art

Lillian was born with a curl which we find adorable, …

… although it may become the cause of severe cursing from the upstairs bathroom in 15 years time.

We hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

We are becoming regulars at Deerpark Cafe, but won’t bother you with more pictures of it (at least not this week :P ). The weather today was absolutely lovely and after some fun on the Deerpark playground this morning Meli and Erik spent most of the afternoon gardening.

Glenn and Lilly preferred to chill inside. Unfortunately Lilly was a bit unsettled so that Glenn didn’t get much chance to relax.

We will surely all sleep well tonight. From tomorrow we are expecting a few days of really miserable weather. Ag, well. We can’t complain and it’s good for our fauna.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Love from the Rabies
