Birthday Party At Diemersdal

Today we were invited to our neighbor daughter Alexia’s second birthday party at Diemersday Wine Farm.
The estate is only a 20 minute drive from us and offers wine tastings for kids from the age of one and a half.
Just kidding.
In beautiful surroundings …
… Meli and Lilly (Glenn could only join later) got comfortable on one of the nice blankets – set up with cushions and all – while Erik ran off to get a closer look at the horses and cows.
Meli had a hard time getting him to stay within her sight.
The jumping castle on the other hand …
… was not attractive for him at all (as usual).
Lucky(?) Alexia will be getting two(!) sisters in three months time.
Erik was too shy to sit at the birthday table with the other kids, …
… but loved the sugary drinks and the lady bug cookies.
The eyes were most fascinating and had to be eaten first – same with the poor little cupcake bug.
Oh, shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!
For a long time Erik stood there with his present for Alexia, but as more and more kids surrounded the birthday girl he decided not to approach her alone.
In the end we just put it on the HUGE pile of other presents.
Then we went for a stroll, …
… Erik climbed up the slide and CLIMBED back down – they were at a weird angle -, …
… then he ate more of his cookie …
… and then finally Glenn joined us! Erik was thrilled and straight away ran off with his Daddy.
By now the kids were all reeeeeeeeeeeeeally tired. Birthday girls …
… as well as little guests.
So we slowly packed up and made our way home. What a beautiful, peaceful place!
Meli thinks we must come back with Nena & Nobbi in March!
One last bug pic.
Bye bye!
At home – probably due to a sugar rush – Erik ended up skipping his nap; and even Lilly, once in bed, got up to nothing but nonsense.
Finally Meli put her back onto her positioner, only to have her *FLIP* herself back onto her tummy in a sec.
It was very cute!
And she did go to sleep eventually.
Then Erik and Mama planted the Cordilines and watered the garden.
Tomorrow we’ll be meeting Ant, Liezl, Hano and Milla at Deerpark Cafe.
But right now we’re tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired!!
Good night!
